Parrot Hill was a member of a local militia called Griswold’s Company and he was a private in the 66th NC regiment Company I. He was captured in March of 1865 perhaps at Bentonville where he shows up as a prisoner of war. No other records have been uncovered but the 66th NC suffered many casualties at Bentonville. “It is said that fighting at Bentonville was much more fierce than that of Gettysburg.”
