I am of the direct line from Elijah Pless of Haywood who moved to Ashe County around the time of the Civil War. Although he can’t be found on the war records, all four of his brothers fought for the Confederacy. Including Asbury Glenn Pless who died in camp Chicago and was buried in the largest mass grave in the northern hemisphere. I believe his body has been reburied with others since then.
