Dear Friends:
I want to thank you for all your support over the years for the NC History Center on the Civil War, Emancipation & Reconstruction project. There is no way that we could be as far along as we are without it.
If you live in Fayetteville, you have seen the steel going up and the building taking shape. After nearly 20 years, it feels really good to see the progress. The community is excited. We are collaborating with many contractors on the project. The State of North Carolina has been working diligently to prepare for the day when they will receive the project from us. There are still many moving parts that need to align, but each day significant progress is being made.
I’m writing today to begin a new line of communication. Starting with this update, we will email photos periodically of the progress we are making with the building and will attempt to keep everyone informed, with the understanding that the opening will not happen until early 2028. We are still raising money to complete the plan, so any help you can give would be greatly appreciated.
Again, thanks for all you have done and continue to do for this World Class project.
