My Great-Grandmother was Emily Jones Morrison, and she was the daughter of Hiram King and Lucretia Jones of Henderson County, North Carolina. She was born in 1853 and died when I was in the 11th grade, in 1954. She did tell me about having to hide their food, livestock, and valuables so the Confederate and Union forces could not confiscate everything they owned. She also told me other tales about real shootings and about my family.
