My great-great-grandfather Randy Taylor fought for the Confederacy during the Civil War. He was born about 1832 and was the son of John Taylor and Rebecca Clark. He married Rebecca Moody, and their daughter was Lelia Taylor, my great-grandmother. I knew her.

In 1862, Randy was a twenty-five-year-old mechanic living in Caldwell County, NC. On March 19, 1862, Randy enlisted in Company A of the 22nd Infantry (North Carolina). He was a POW during part of his service, he recovered from having typhoid fever, and he returned home after the war.

That is all I know about him except they say he was mean.
