by | Mar 23, 2015 | Confederate affiliation, Wake

Private Richard Dishman of Brooklyn, my great-grandfather, served in the U.S. Army with the 48th New York Infantry Regiment, Company B. He survived both the struggle for Fort Fisher and the Civil War. He was mustered out in Raleigh. He married Mary Walsh, and they had four children who survived. They all lived in Brooklyn. Richard was active in the Grand Army of the Republic.
