Charles Dry was born 1832 in Cabarrus County, NC. He was the son of John and Elizabeth Dry. He resided in Rowan County when he enlisted in the 42nd North Carolina Regiment, Company 2nd B on the 5 February 1862. He was present and accounted for until his death in 1863.
