My 3X-Great-Grandfather was Captain Wilson Austin White. He was born Jun 30, 1826 in Greensboro, Guilford Co., North Carolina. He was the son of William Austin White and Rebecca White (surnames were the same, no genealogical connection).

When he was twenty-one, Wilson Austin White married Nancy Malinda Barnes on Mar 23,1848 in Caldwell County, North Carolina. They had 7 children.

On July 26, 1861, at the age of 35, Wilson enlisted in the Confederate army. He served in Company I, North Carolina 26th Infantry Regiment Infantry, CSA. Capt. White survived the war and returned to his home in Caldwell County, NC.

After Nancy passed away, Capt. Wilson White married Mary Magdalene Pope and had 4 additional children. He received a land grant on Jun. 19, 1891 of 83 acres along the waters of King Creek.

Capt. Wilson White died on Jan. 23, 1911. He was buried with his first wife, Nancy Malinda Barnes White, in Union Baptist Church Cemetery in Lenoir, Caldwell Co, North Carolina.
