Here is a picture of Ann Eliza Brown White (1838-1927). She was born in Sampson County, North Carolina, on Aug. 8, 1838. Ann married Murdock White and was Lt. Lal White’s sister-in-law (some of Lal’s letters are also in this collection, see these links https://nccivilwar.wpengine.com/lt-lal-whites-letter-home-july-19-1863/ and https://nccivilwar.wpengine.com/lt-lal-whites-letter-home-august-20-1863/ for letters to his brother James). Ann’s great-grandfather, Edward Brown, founded the Great Cohera Baptist Church in 1749. It still exists.
